Sabrina Carpenter Apologizes After Viral Coachella Fan Exchange | E! News

Sabrina Carpenter apologized for her reaction after a fan let out a Zaghrouta—an Arabic celebratory call—during her Coachella 2026 set on April 10. On April 11, Sabrina responded to a clip of the interaction, writing on X, “My apologies I didn’t see this person with my eyes and couldn’t hear clearly. My reaction was pure confusion, sarcasm and not ill intended. Could have handled it better! Now I know what a Zaghrouta is! I welcome all cheers and yodels from here on out.” Full Story:

  1. to be fair to Sabrina, what that person was yelling DID sound strange to 99% of the English speaking population. If I was on stage, I too would have thought it was some kind of heckling. Sabrina thought she was being heckled which many artists sadly experience. (If I were heckled I would really have my feelings hurt and sit with my feelings and not want to continue my show – but thank God I'm not an artist!). I think the fan should have just cheered "I love you!" or something normal and socially acceptable. I personally don't know if Sabrina did anything wrong. She did react with surprise and it was sarcasm to what was an unfamiliar term. I think the fan didn't mean harm but at the same time you cannot act so outraged when Sabrina's reaction would be justified. Sabrina had to apologize because she is a public persona and her agency probably wanted her to address it but I also don't think it's right that Sabrina was made to apologize when what the fan yelled could be misconstrued as something offensive.

  2. This is honestly the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard lol. It’s soooo loud at concerts and there’s a lot going on. Not everyone is versed in every culture. This is weird lol.

  3. Nah she knows what she did and she still doubled down and talk more crap about I accept yodels yeah right she didn't know that zughouta everyone knows that arab cheer or call

  4. She apologized to her and silenced the racists. Die of your hatred! racist ppl is like a wild animal, without values or principles. They thinks life is a jungle where they can be rude, savage, and uncivilized towards other people. Learn some manners in your speech; it's free.

  5. Culture, this is brilliant to know so now me being English I can go to any event that I like around the world wait for a quiet spell and scream and shout at the top of my voice. Come on 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 ! English till I die England till I die ! And all I have to say if anyone objects is ? That’s my culture ?

  6. I don't give tw o shits either about culture, and culture didn't just show up her and try to take over not even with they culture, assimilate because we didn't stay nice about it anymore you business your bridges.

  7. This woman gets away with things to easily. She did this in front of a live audience and on national TV. Not only did she say something offensive to the people in the video, but now all of her Arabic fans know that she feels comfortable talking down to their culture. Stay mad

  8. Just caught off guard but something she was unfamiliar with. Good of her to apologize. She’s an adult. Wish our POTUS was this adult & caring! ❤
